Dutch Battery Flows Monitor 2020
This report delivers a baseline study for the portable battery waste flows for the year 2019, using a replicable methodology that is consistent with the Dutch WEEE Flows 2020 study. The goal is to provide well-evidenced information for investigating the collection rate of waste batteries and monitor other previously undocumented battery flows in the Netherlands. This study shows that in 2019, a total of:
- 9.3 kilotons (kt) of batteries were Placed on the Market (POM) in the Netherlands,
- 24.2 kt of batteries were in use or hibernating in households, companies, and the public sector,
- 9.5 kt of batteries became waste.
